Anna Gaskell
Anna Gaskell's works unfold within the self-enclosed world of girls on the cusp of adolescence, a world in which naive childhood games are transformed into dark rituals of cruelty and torture. The sharp, diagonal photographic angles enhance the dimension of violence and mystery in the depicted scenes - whose sado-masochistic nature makes it difficult to ascertain who is the victim and who is the perpetrator.
