Takahiro Iwasaki

Born in 1975 in Hiroshima. He lives in Hiroshima.

Iwasaki uses everyday objects as materials in his artwork. He makes houses, footbridges, signboards, Ferris wheels, cranes, and other structures, all in miniature, out of materials such as fabric and paper. When described in words, these scenes in which piles of materials often seen as waste are transformed into miniature cities suggest an element of social criticism, but they exhibit just enough humour (and of course dexterity) to rise above this.
